思い返せば，「 ＝ 」 ＝ equal ＝ 「 イコール 」
「 S 」 ＝ square measure ＝ 「 面積 」
「 V 」 ＝ volume ＝ 「 体積 」
「 ∽ 」 ＝ similar figures ＝ 「 相似 」
など，数学と英語の親和性の高さを知ったのは，大学で若林俊輔先生の講義を聞いてからでした。
そして，
「 a ＞ b 」 ＝ a is greater than b. ＝ 「 a は b より大きい 」
「不等号」も「比較級」そのものであることも。
そして，ニコニコ笑いながら，
